This mug from Mateus meets Sam Baron meets Yatzer is as good for you morning coffee and afternoon tee as it is for serving yoghurt, soups or desserts. The collection honors the traditional craftsmanship and is characterized by the minimalistic expression featuring details from hand painted brush strokes.
- All our products are handmade and hand painted and each piece is unique
- Dishwasher, microwave, and freezer safe. A dishwasher runs a regular program of about 65-70 degrees and that is hot enough for cleaning. As our ceramic is not intended for public use as a commercial kitchen and restaurant, we do not recommend that it’s washed at a higher temperature than that
- We pack our deliveries environmentally friendly and choose shipment options with the least footprints on the environment
- We do not recommend that you place products directly on surfaces that are sensitive to moisture or soak products as clay is a natural material that can absorb water
The raw material for Mateus ceramics is a fine-grained clay extracted from the soil in the central and northern parts of Portugal. The natural clay is ground and mixed with clean water before it is used. Mateus ceramics do not contain any toxic heavy metals such as lead or cadmium and meet the high standards for tableware set by the US Food and Drug Administration, FDA.
The collection explores and honors the Mateus ceramics origins while being distinguished by a modern and stylistically pure aesthetics. Contrasting the unglazed structure and the hand-painted colour shades, the objects are infused with a modern style while staying true to the traditional artisan artwork. The assortment includes plates, two bowls, a platter, a jug and a mug in various shades and sizes.
